This was a very interesting artical, she was a very interesting person to listen to.there ideas are the wave of the future .to put a bunch of people in a room and brain storm idea is becoming the norm, breaking away from old stlye corperate leadership making all the decissions.i did relate this to and artical in another class about the valley and how start up companys evolve.i think it is totaly amazing how you can take ideas from people that do not even work with you and implament them into your product line or your idea to make it better and not have a clash of pride or resentment.i think a lot of the old corperations need to take notice to this if they want to make it

universal serial bus

this device allows other devices to be conected with the computer,it allow devices to be conected an unconected with out rebooting the computer,it is also a way to transfor data from one location to another.it also alows devices to conect to the computer not to need and externail power supply to be add.the usb port came into being in 1996 with muliple companys coming together to simplfy the exchange of data an to make one univeral port for computer witch up to that time had many different configuations, the main reason was the popularity of the lap top.
the usb port has evolved into a storage device before people would store data on disk now store them on usb transfere devices.the host coputer now can inteface with muliple computers through the usb port, also alows tempery devices to be hocked up to the computer.usb signling has three rates of data transfer, full, low, and high and a experimantal rate of high speed data transfer.each year they become smaller and faster.

HYMAN GEORGE RICKOVER "Farther of the Nuclear Navy"

Nuclear technology
Admiral Hyman George Rickover

Born in Poland he immigrated to the United States in 1905, his family lived in New York for a short time, then moved to Chicago, while in Chicago he worked very hard helping support his parents, he graduated with high honors from his high school, he became acquainted with a congressman named Adolph j. Sabath and he appointed him to the navel academy he was accepted, he graduated in 1922 from the academy. in the years leading up to the second world war he served on various ships from destroyers to battle ships, he mostly was involved in engineering and electrical working o these ships. After the attack on peal harbor he became in charge of all electrical operations for the navy.
In 1946 the navy became interested in a project that involved nuclear generators, they sent a group of people, Rickover applied but was not accepted, he then turned to his former boss during the war, which in turn sent him and put him in charge of the operation. He met with members of the Manhattan project and was convinced nuclear technology was the future of the navy; he began work on designing a pressurized water reactor. He was eventfully put in charge of all nuclear production for the navy. he had very high standards he was involved in picking all the commanders of all American nuclear ships, he had a very storied career in the navy he commissioned his first nuclear submarine in 1954, the USS Nautilus this revolutionized submarine warfare, subs no longer had to refuel or run on the surface to charge there batteries, there time at sea would be determined by the amount of food they need and amount of torpedo’s expended.
During the course of his career the admiral was a very controversial person to deal with. But he did have a reputation of getting the job done, he went out on every nuclear ship in the navy on it trial runs, this was his version of giving it his stamp of approval, under his watch we had over 200 nuclear submarines, and 25 carriers and cruisers and to his credit not one nuclear miss hap on any of our ships. But in the zenith of his career he became to out spoken and was force to retire but to honor his accomplishments the name a submarine after him in 1983 very few living people are bestowed that honor.

google search ROBOTS

Robot
I have always been interested in robots ever since I had seen the movie The Forbidden Plant and had my first look at the robot the called Robbie. since I am older than most people in the class I can remember when automated robots were making there staring début in the work force, I can remember the cry’s of out rage in the automobile industry as they made there ways into the plants, they were taking peoples jobs not making the assembly easer. The auto workers eventually lost the battle and the war.
It is happen really amazing how they have evolved, how large and how small they vary now and all the amazing task they can perform we have even sent them to other worlds, they have no fear some are tasked to do the most dangerous thinks that man can not do. They have ventured into gas laden mines in search of people, into nuclear disasters like Chernobyl to simple task of going down a whole that a person has fallen into. One of the most amazing things that I read was in the medical field that doctors are working on miniature Roberts that can enter a person’s body and repair cells or attack and destroy cancer cells. In there short existences robot technology has grown in leaps and bounds the possibility seems endless what they someday can do………terminators, cylons………who knows they could even some day evolve on there own.

homework sept 22 resubmitted

Home work resubmitted September 22 2008

All this technology is very new to me I still have a ton of movies on vhf, I just figured out how to load my I-pod nano this year. So I decide to go to wall mart and look around the videos section and TV section. Since most of these stores have the same layout all this stuff was in one area. I do like to buy a lot of DVDs and slowly the section with blue ray is growing larger, and my section is growing smaller. So I decide to talk to one of the sales people. He explained to me that the way TV are evolving people want more clarity in there pictures. Witch makes sense I guess, I asked him if the TVs will interact with the video gaming systems, he said some would but I think he was not to sure. Then came the real fun part I walked over to were all the video monitors were and all the new game releases are and there were I couple young kids playing on them. so I asked them a couple questions about the games they were playing ,after they figured out I was not some kind of nut they kind of gave me some answers, they both had older play station neither one parts could afford the Xbox’s to expensive so they came to Wal-Mart to play the games for free. I am not a gamer at all and really have not paid much attention to this, my limited experience with video games come from when I was in the military.
The second time I watched the video I understood what she was talking about I had no idea that you could buy a system that could interact with your I-pod and your TV, this might be and issue with DVD sales I think you can pirate videos off the internet load them onto your I-pod and then watch them on your TV, I think the sales kid at Wal-Mart had no idea about interaction of TV with other systems.
Toshiba's cutting there prices sounds like an action caused by a weakening dollar. From looking at those prices people might not have had the extra money to spend on such a high priced item. So to save some kind of market share they slashed there prices, better than having no sales.
Comcast is in a tight race with the satellite and verizion I think they will all achieve what they want but the one that holds the best price will be the victor, my cable bill is over 100.00 a month how much higher will it go, I will switch to the cheapest provider and who has the best service

vidoes

1) i have no idea what she is taklking about
2) i am not really sure what they are talking about but they are really expensive, with the state of the economy i think they should slash prices anyway
3)with the constant threat of each other taking over the market ,they tend to work harder to keep there market share, this make it better for and averge consumer to benifit from,if that makes sense.
